STARTUPPER OF THE YEAR CHALLENGE BY TOTAL
Following the success of the first edition launched in 2015 in more than 30 African countries, Total renewed its Startupper of the Year Challenge in 2018, this time at a global level, across 60 countries.
This challenge supports and encourages young entrepreneurs whose projects would make a positive impact in their country. In each participating country, from Poland to Turkey, Thailand, Chile or Morocco, a local jury comprised of experts from Total, incubator managers, business leaders and local stakeholders, selected three winners. They each received the “Startupper of the Year by Total” label and secured financial backing, professional coaching and an advertising campaign to give each project the visibility it deserved. To encourage innovative women-led businesses, the jury also designated the top female entrepreneur in each country.
A PRACTICAL INITIATIVE THAT HELPS SUPPORT SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN OVER 60 COUNTRIES ACROSS THE GLOBE
We used a mosaic of portraits to emphasize the diversity and creative energy of the entrepreneurs participating in this new edition of the Startupper Challenge. To communicate effectively throughout the various stages of the competition (teasing, call for projects, open vote, jury selection, winner announcement), a large-scale program was developed, adapted into 13 different languages and then deployed in all 60 participating countries, in print, display and social media
